Rambling Dan Frechette will play at Creston's Snoring Sasquatch on July 19.

Armed with a harmonica and any number of instruments, Rambling Dan Frechette performs with passion and strong conviction, and he returns to the Snoring Sasquatch on July 19.

Frechette has crafted a wide variety of songs in many acoustic based genres for many years in the prairie cities of Winnipeg and Pinawa, Man. His music conjures the many eras and histories of popular song before his birth 35 years ago. His abilities as a performer and a self-taught multi-instrumentalist add a multifaceted essence to his songwriting. His voice harkens to the sound of edgy Americana and the storied history of the past starting from 40 years ago.

He is known as an excellent interpreter of timeless classics and not so well known songs from the past. Frechette is also an excellent mimic, able to conjure close impressions of many different well known artists even sometimes all within the same song.

Frechette has been recording all fall and winter and has compiled some of his 1,500 original compositions into separate genre albums including bluegrass, blues and folk.

“The tour is going to be a lot of fun,” he said. “I plan to break the sets up into quarter sections so I’m changing gears during each set into a different genre. … I love playing intimate venues because the people like to get to know an artist who can play all kinds of music. I do a pretty mean Dylan impression, too.”
