Lethbridge, Alta., singer-songwriter Karen Romanchuk will be appearing at the Snoring Sasquatch on July 21 at 8:30 p.m.

Romanchuk is currently touring to promote her newest CD, Dance, which showcases some incredible talent including seven-time Canadian Country Music Association guitar player of the year, Wendell Ferguson, on two tunes.

She has had the opportunity to open for many amazing musicians in the past, including the Lynn Miles, the Good Lovelies, Jill Barber, Colin James, Gaye Delorme, Catherine MacLellan, Katherine Wheatley and late great Willie P. Bennett, to name a few.

“Karen is a hidden gem,” said Mike Spencer of Lethbridge’s Geomatic Attic.

“A cross between Waylon Jennings, Steve Earle and Lucinda Williams, she writes strong, rich folk and roots,” said Balgium’s Ctrl. Alt. Country magazine. “Her material was formed as if it were at the crossroads between country rock, the famous Texas Outlaw and rootsy folk scene,”

The show begins at 8:30 p.m. on July 21; the doors open at 7:30. Tickets are $10 in advance at Kingfisher Used Books or Black Bear Books, and $12 at the door.
