Music fans are in for a treat on Oct. 17 when popular musician Steve Bell performs on his Pilgrimage tour.

Bell has been performing since he was eight, having been taught to play guitar by his father, a prison chaplain at the federal Drumheller penitentiary. He played in a trio in the 1980s, then turned to solo performances in 1989.

He has since released 17 CDs in a 25-year span and played dates with symphony orchestras throughout North America. In 1997, he won a Juno Award for best gospel album, a feat he repeated in 2000.

For his advocacy work for the less fortunate, Bell was awarded a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.

With a huge fan base eager to hear his songs  and stories based on Christian scripture and themes, Bell tours regularly. A four-CD release entitled Pilgrimage is now on the market.

Tickets for the Creston concert are available at Home Hardware or online at stevebell.com.
