Before the school year finished, Footlighters Theatre Society presented Adam Robertson Elementary School with a cheque for $1,266.75, half of the proceeds of the Footlighters-ARES co-production of The Sound of Music.
The musical, which ran in April, was the most recent of several joint productions, which see half of the profit contributed to the school to be put toward art programs.
“It’s a lot of fun to work with the school and the kids,” said Footlighters president Brian Lawrence. “The community support for these productions is tremendous, and we’re so happy to share the profits with a good cause.”
