Are you tired and run down from the mid-winter blues? Life will be a cabaret on Jan. 29 at the Snoring Sasquatch arts house.

Are you tired and run down from the mid-winter blues? Life will be a cabaret on Jan. 29 at the Snoring Sasquatch arts house.

A complete night of fabulous live entertainment, scrumptious food and drinks, and special surprises await all who attend the Sasquatch Arts and Music Society’s cabaret fundraiser.

“We’ve been having a great time co-ordinating events at the Sasquatch,” said volunteer Jason Smith. “This is a great opportunity to come and help us celebrate, while at the same time raising money to help us continue on.”

Entertainers include acclaimed Nelson pianist Dan Caverly, choral group Key of She, jazz vocalist Louise n’ha Ruby, Tamara Fox and Eric Johnson — as well as a special “burlesque” surprise.

Never-before-seen art by local artists Maureen Cameron and Margaux Allard will be exhibited, and guests will also enjoy a performance by the winner of the Jan. 22 poetry slam.

Finally, the cabaret will have a menu of deliciously tempting appetizers prepared by caterer Affairs with Flair, including mini tacos, stuffed mushrooms, pulled barbecue pork sliders and Philly cheese steak on crostini bread.

“This is a very social event,” said Smith. “We want the guests to chat with each other, while at the same time enjoying the food and entertainment.”

Tickets for this licensed event are $15, which includes hors d’oeuvres, coffee and tea, and are available at Kingfisher Used Books and Black Bear Books. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the event runs until midnight.
