Folk-rock group Redgirl coming to town

Web Lead

Redgirl is a rootsy, four-piece band that double dips in organic folk with milky-mild rock rhythms that will play in a licensed pub night at the Snoring Sasquatch on Sept. 10.

Fronted by the clear and fearless vocals of Anie Hepher, the music is built around her evocative voice that is as approachable as it is confident. Michael Hepher (married to the girl) on lead guitar and backing vocals brings a sauciness of sound that adds flavour, depth and kick to the songs and stories of the band.

Bringing it all home are the steady, ready bass notes and smiles of Steve Jones (bass and backing vocals) and inventive and attentive rhythms of Sven Heyde (drums and percussion). This fresh and genuine quartet wants to travel onto your stage, and spend time coaxing some hope, some connection, some winsomeness among us all.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m.; the show begins at 8:30. Tickets are $10 in advance at Kingfisher Used Books and Black Bear Books, and $12 at the door.
