Camp classic The Devil's Nightmare running at Snoring Sasquatch

March 10 is the second Thursday of the month, which means its time for another vintage movie night at the Snoring Sasquatch.

“Lately it seems that people wanted a reason to laugh or at least take things a little less seriously,” said movie night volunteer Jason Smith. “We've begun showing what I would call ‘camp’ classics.”

Defined by their overacting, bad taste, extreme ostentation and over-the-top storylines, camp movies make a great night of laughter and fun.

This month’s movie is the 1971 Italian horror, The Devil’s Nightmare, the movie one online review calls “classic 1970s Euro smut.”

When a group of stranded travelers show up at a creepy baron’s castle, things go terribly wrong. Hair styled and lips glossed, a saucy homicidal succubus, played by Erika Blanc, begins her attack by tempting each victim with their own signature sin. Will the handsome young priest figure a way to un-damn his dim witted companions? Plot twists and a surprise ending make this a bad movie lovers dream come true.

“I can hardly believe how ridiculous it sounds,” said Sasquatch Arts and Music Society director Shelly Lamb. “Its sounds so outrageously bad. I can’t wait!”

The evening begins with a short at 7 p.m., followed by the feature at 7:30. Admission is by donation, and audiences are warned that the film contains adult themes and subject matter.
