Celebrating its 25th year, Creston’s Blossom Valley Singers is launching another season of choral music in a variety of styles. Singers of all ages gather weekly on Tuesdays to rehearse for their two yearly concerts.

This year’s Singing Christmas Tree will feature some interesting ethnic music from Spain, Africa and Brazil, a “jing-a-ling” piece and two inspiring choruses from Handel’s Messiah: And the Glory of the Lord and the Hallelujah Chorus. Some of the selections will be accompanied by a local brass ensemble.

Directing the choir for the third season, Anita Stushnoff is looking for many enthusiastic and energetic singers to provide the support needed for these ambitious selections. The Blossom Valley Singers, a mixed choir, is open to those who wish to develop their ability to sing in a choral ensemble in a supportive and welcoming atmosphere.

Whether or not you can read music, if you like to sing harmony, just show up at the rehearsals on Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m. at the Trinity United Church hall and you will be given everything you will need to get started.
