“We’re going to change the scenery from what it was in the past to go with our ‘garden party’ theme,” said BVS president Elvin Strand.

Flowers will festoon the United Church Hall, and round tables will be used instead of the usual rectangular configuration. Decorations will be provided by Morris Flowers.

Under the baton of Anita Stushnoff and accompanied by Monte Anderson, the BVS garden party concert will offer love songs, madrigals, songs of adventure and ethnic melodies. The concert will feature the blossoming young voices of the Creston Children’s Choir, Leah Jones on the djembe, D.J. Cruttenden (soloist from Bonners Ferry), Caroline Martin (flute) and monologues by Kelly Mehrer.

The concert will be held at 2:30 p.m. on April 2 and 3 at the United Church Hall. Tickets are available at Black Bear Books and members of the BVS choir. Proceeds from the concert are used for music scholarships and summer music camps.
