The Creston Concert Society’s final concert of the season will be presented on April 14 at 7:30 p.m. at Prince Charles Theatre when the amazing April Verch will take to the stage with her band.

Verch is a world-class fiddler, a champion Ottawa Valley step dancer, an acclaimed composer and vocalist whose voice has been hailed as “absolutely captivating” by the Toronto Star. She holds the Canadian Grand Masters Fiddling champion and the Canadian Open fiddle champion titles (the first and only woman to win both). Verch was featured in the Fiddle Nation part of the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

With a repertoire that ranges from bluegrass to Brazilian to Celtic, from jaunty Canadian folk songs to a poignant contemporary ballad, Verch is an utterly unique performer. Together with her band, Clay Ross on guitar and Cody Walters on stand-up electric bass and banjo, Verch has established a reputation as the consummate performer.

You will not want to miss this performance promising to be “a beguiling blend of folk, jazz, old-time, bluegrass and roots music woven together with precision, intensity and soul.”

Tickets are available at Black Bear Books.
