The Yasodhara Ashram is inviting everyone to attend its fall session of community classes from Oct. 3-Nov. 28, as hatha and dream yoga are explored on Wednesday evenings at the ashram’s Mandala House.

Hidden Language Hatha Yoga takes the practice of hatha yoga beyond a series of physical exercises. It is a gentle and meditative style of Hatha that respects the body as a spiritual tool. By working with metaphor, symbolism, imagery and visualization, the “hidden” messages of each asana are revealed. Participants should bring a journal. The class runs from 6-7:30, and is $8 to drop in or $64 for the session.

Dream Yoga combines yoga techniques and practices with an investigation of symbolism, it opens up a dialogue with the unconscious mind and is a detailed method of interpreting the messages of your subconscious to create change in your waking life. The yogic method of working with dreams emphasizes independence and builds understanding of yourself as an individual. Participants should also bring a journal to this class, which runs from 7:45-9:15 p.m. and is $64.

The cost for taking both classes is: $115. Registration is in advance by contacting Yasodhara Ashram at 250-227-9224 or yashram@yasodhara.org, or by arriving early the first night of class.
