The Creston Valley Hospital recently purchased three Holter monitors for the lab through donations from the Creston-Kootenay Foundation and the Tuck Shop (which included $1,000 from the Wynndel Box Employees Association).
The monitors, which totalled $7,359, are portable devices that measure the wearer’s heart activity continuously for 24-48 hours. With a high demand for Holter monitoring in Creston, these devices will reduce the wait list in the future.
Present for the donation were Tuck Shop volunteers MaryNell Pawelko and Sheila Lawson, Tuck Shop co-ordinator Mabel McCowan, lab assistant Gwen Gawryluk, lab technician Jennifer Harrison, Creston-Kootenay Foundation director Nicole Nilsson, and hospital site manager Carolyn Hawton.
