The annual Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign will benefit the Creston Valley Hospital Tuck Shop.

From Sept 19-26, the Tim Hortons Creston location is once again offering its delicious double-sized smiling chocolate chip cookies in support of the Creston Valley Hospital.

The program is delivered by the Tim Hortons Creston and the Creston Valley Hospital Tuck Shop, which are setting their sights on raising $3,500 for the purchase of a vital signs monitor for the local hospital.

Vital signs monitors provide critical information about a patient’s state of health. They are a way of quickly assessing how serious an illness is and how well the body is coping with the resulting biological stress. The more unstable the vital signs are, the sicker the patient is. Vital signs can also mark the state of chronic diseases, such as hypertension.

“It is great to work with the volunteers at the Tuck Shop knowing that the money we raise together will purchase something specific for the Creston Hospital,” said Tim Hortons manager Scott Seitz. “The vital signs monitor will be a welcome addition to the hospital and Tim Hortons is very pleased to be able to help that happen,”

The two groups hope to sell 25 cases, which is 3,500 cookies over the one-week selling frenzy.

Cookies can be purchased individually, by the half-dozen or dozen or, for the brave of heart, a case of 140 cookies for $140. To pre-order, simply call Tim Hortons at 250-402-0062.

The Smile Cookie program is a unique way for Tim Hortons store owners to give back to community charities, knowing that $1 can make a difference in their communities.

For more information, contact Scott Seitz at Tim Hortons or Mabel McCowan at the Creston Valley Hospital Tuck Shop at 250-866-5245.
