The Voice of PCSS is a monthly feature in the Creston Valley Advance that includes work by students at Prince Charles Secondary School.

The following poems, describing fathers, were written by Prince Charles Secondary School students to show the power of creative comparison.

My Wilt Chamberlain, Bob Dylan, Andy Warhol

Eyes trademark brown

Full locks like The King himself

Calloused story book hands

Steps as if he were walking on the moon

Yee-haws! like a Beverly Hillbilly

Tone to make or break a discussion

Son of former Mr Milkman

Angry like a LOUD revolution

Jimmy Dean laugh

Killing bucks or fixing trucks on Saturday

Never will see this guy "Turn on, Tune in & Drop out"

He's a riot policeman before his first cup

"Those hippies are animlas"

Use 2 feet and a heart beat

Game like Space war!

Strong and tough like a Vietnam soldier

Loves hockey comparable to any worthy Canadian

My dad is the 60's.

Father of Cars: Jetta

Built with care and intelligence

designed to withstand all conditions

tough exterior

comforting interior

competing among the best

always determined for success

complex

each seam a unique cell

serving its function

devoted

slaves away on any day

motor continues to purr

dependable

focused on a goal

a cheetah on the hunt

roaring

gripping sound system

each base hit a dominant laugh

security for a family
