The Creston Valley 4-H clubs held their district speeches on Feb. 16 at the Creston Baptist Church.
Ada Browne won first place among the seniors, with second place going Alyssa Eastman and Elizabeth Browne in third.
In the junior category, Jessa Adams placed first, with Zoe Henderson in second and Devon Van Der Merwe in third.
Those six will move on to regional speech competition, held this year at the Creston Baptist Church on March 2.
Generously donating their time as judges were Laurie Riehl, Chris Schofer, Tom Heal, Betty Marzke, Tom Tarzwell and Lynn Gardner.
Timekeepers Samantha Collins and Marianne van der Merwe and scorekeeper Sarah Collins worked tirelessly to keep track of all the speakers, who did a fantastic job with speeches covering a wide array of topics.
