Dec. 4 was a beautiful day at Morris Flowers Garden Centre. It was also a very successful, even unusual day for the Pet Adoption Welfare Society’s annual pet photos with Santa.

Successful because well over 100 pets came to visit Santa, whisper their secret Christmas wishes and get their photos taken with the jolly, friendly bearded man in red. Successful because, thanks to the generosity and support from pet parents, almost $800 was donated to PAWS to help give homeless shelter pets a happy Christmas.

Unusual because it was another first for PAWS and Santa. This year, Santa was visited by Inga and Kit, two very special horses from the Creston and District Society for Community Living’s Therapeutic Riding Program and by an extremely unique critter — a bearded dragon!

PAWS extends its appreciation to Santa, Lloyd Morris, Creston pet parents and volunteers for helping PAWS help homeless animals. Merry Christmas, everyone!
