A variety of challenges kept the PAWS mini golf tournament lively on June 18.

The Pet Adoption and Welfare Society’s summer fundraising event, a mini-golf tournament held at Cheyenne Creek Mini-Golf, was held on June 18. Although the day began cloudy and cool, as have the majority of days this year, the temperature warmed up, the sun made an appearance and the rain held off to allow a successful, fun-packed event for all who participated.

As well as the normal mini golf course challenges, PAWS added some unique and different tests to the mix at a number of holes, including using the putter as a pool cue, wearing oven mitts, standing on one foot, and sitting on an exercise ball!

Signe Miller won a toaster oven for ladies low score, Wayne Richens low score earned him a Coleman cooler and for youth low score, Erin Collison received a gift certificate for a movie rental. Great prizes were awarded to golfers with the lowest scores on the extra skill-testing sections as well.

At the end of the tournament, everyone enjoyed hotdogs and beverages while the winners of PAWS barrow of fun raffle were drawn.

The first prize of a wheelbarrow stocked with barbecue fixings was won by Lawrence Rivers, the second prize wooden planters and Morris Flowers gift certificate went to Chris Olsen and the third prize, a handmade afghan and pillows, was won by Colten Andruchiw.

Congratulations and thanks to everyone who came out to support PAWS and enjoyed a day filled with prizes, fun, and laughter. An extra special PAWS thank you to the wonderful host for this event, beautiful Cheyenne Creek Mini Golf!
