Elizabeth Knutson and her family celebrated her 90th birthday at the West Creston Hall last month.

Seventy guests from far and wide came to the West Creston Hall where a three-day event in honour of Elizabeth Knutson’s 90th birthday was held from May 18-20. It was a time of visiting, playing games and enjoying the non-ending supply of delicious food.

On the Sunday evening, a special dinner was held with the highlight of each member of the family presenting Elizabeth with a flower, making a large bouquet. Each of her children spoke to her as they presented their flower, addressing her value to each of them.

In attendance were six children, eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Many family members wore T-shirts saying, “Happy Birthday Mom”,

“Happy Birthday Grandma”, “Happy Birthday Great-Grandma”, and so on. Knutson was previously presented with a T-shirt saying, “Birthday Girl”, on her birthday, April 13.

Knutson was born April 13, 1923, in Daysville, Sask. She and her late husband, Melvin, moved to Creston in 1989, settling in Lister, where she still resides.

“The best things in my life are my family and friends, whom I cherish deeply,” she said.
