Hello from Cherie Luke, Youth Coordinator.

I am excited to give an update on what is going on with Creston’s Youth events and programs. We are currently still open at the Youth Center (221 11th Ave N) every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3:15-7pm. We hold a weekly T.A.C. meeting, this stands for Teen Action Committee. At these meetings, we share what’s going on for the Youth in Creston and plan for the programs or events the youth would like to see happen.

If you have a youth who is between the ages of 12-18, they are welcome to join us. We have a monthly calendar that you can find online on our Facebook page Creston Valley Youth Network, where we post up to date information on events and youth center hours.

We will be hosting a dance on April 21st at the Rotacrest building. The dance will start at 7 pm and go until 11 pm. Our theme is “the magic garden”. This will be a fun, safe and supervised event (secured and well staffed). If your youth (12-18) are interested in attending, the admission cost is $8, which will include an entry for door prizes, as well their first drink from our “smart bar”, which will serve delicious smoothies, and healthy snacks.

I attended a school symposium and heard from many youths in the valley that they’d like to see more dances, so I am excited for the CVYN to offer this event. If you would like to know more information or find out how you can support the youth of Creston, please don’t hesitate to contact me at crestonvalleyyouthnetwork@gmail.com or call/text 250-977-5380.
