“Mrs. DeVuono is stuck up.” “She's just hanging out."
Those comments, and other puns from one Erickson Elementary School student, were just part of the fun when soon-to-be-retired principal Nancy Devuono volunteered to let students duct tape her to a tree in Centennial Park on June 26. Students paid for strips of tape to get the job done, all proceeds going toward an addition to the school's playground.
She remained in place for 10-15 minutes after the tape project was complete, posing for photos and chatting with students and parents as part of the school's year-end festivities.
