The Creston and District Society for Community Living’s Therapeutic Riding Program is holding its fourth annual Art Trot Silent Art Auction and Treasures to Buy fundraiser on Feb. 7 and 8 in the Sunshine Room at the Creston and District Community Complex. This has been a quality art show by donation and a lot of fun too.

Last year’s event was a huge success, with 40 pieces of art up for auction and several tables filled with treasures to buy. This year’s event will once again feature work by local artists gathered as the Creative Stew, and work by students from Adam Robertson Elementary School and Prince Charles Secondary School. Those items were really popular last year!

Consider this an opportunity to create or re-gift a work of art or an interesting craft. Donations are eligible for tax receipts and gratefully accepted at the CDSCL office (205 Seventh Ave. N., 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday to Friday).

An opening night reception will be held from 5-7 p.m. Feb. 7, with snacks, beverages and the program’s very own Peter Feltham on guitar for entertainment.

Congratulations to Heath Berry, who won the Art Trot poster art contest, and now has his winning piece on the event poster. Greeting cards are being produced with all of the submitted artwork and will be available to purchase at the event.
