This year, the Therapeutic Riding Program is a Creston Valley Blossom Festival event.

From 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, everyone is welcome to watch a Therapeutic Riding Program demonstration at its newly renovated facility at 849 Erickson Rd. The riding demonstrations for the public will celebrate the grand reopening of the facility.

Also on display will be the upgraded mounting ramp, new tack area and other improvements made possible by the Kraft initiative launched by community volunteers last year. The Therapeutic Riding Program was the recipient of the Kraft award of $25,000, which also made possible the acquisition of Peanut and several additional gentle horses.

Support for the Creston and District Society for Community Living’s Therapeutic Riding Program upgrades came from several sources, including the KES Experience Works program, Columbia Basin Trust, the Creston Kootenay-Foundation, Tire Stewardship BC and the Town of Creston.
