On May 9, Roshi Zenku Jerry Smyers, a Soto Zen priest, conducted the ancient ceremony for renaming a Zen temple. The Creston Zen Centre, now an affiliate of the Silent Thunder Zen Order, changed it’s name to Sakura-ji (Cherry Blossom Temple).
Smyers led a mini-retreat the previous evening, and then led meditation prior to the renaming ceremony.
