The zendo at Creston’s ZenWords Zen Centre is hosting a day of mindfulness on Saturday.
The day will allow resident teacher Kuya Minogue to celebrate and share the teachings she received while taking a course, nearly completed, that will certify her in teaching mindfulness.
“I am offering this day to the community to express my gratitude for the opportunity that I have to certify as a mindfulness teacher,” she said.
The day will run from 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m., and include a variety of mindfulness activities — many of which Minogue has written about in her twice-monthly column in the Advance — such as meditation (sitting and walking) and mindful eating, with breakfast provided by the zendo and lunch brought by guests.
