On Jan. 5 at 4 a.m., Pridham Studio owners Micah and Jeremiah Wassink became parents to Adeline Elyse Dahlia Wassink, the Creston Valley’s first baby born in 2013. She weighed seven pounds, nine ounces, and was 20.5 inches long, born a week early after four hours of labour.
Micah gave birth at home, and the baby was delivered by midwife Leah Barlow at the start of a busy day — she delivered two more within 24 hours.
This is the second New Year’s baby for the Wassink family; Jeremiah’s sister, Rachael, is the mother of 2009 New Year’s baby, Zoe.
