Did you know that the western painted turtle can survive all winter without breathing? It can, and if you would like to learn more about the western painted turtle, you are invited to Turtle Day at the Wildlife Interpretation Centre from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday.
Two turtle researchers from Thompson Rivers University will be on hand to divulge information about their project on western painted turtles and show equipment they use to conduct their research working in the Creston Valley Wildlife Management Area. The CVWMA naturalists will also be prepared with a fun hands-on activity during the event.
