On a recent visit to the Creston Valley Hospital, the East Kootenay Foundation for Health’s Donna Grainger and Beth Bennett took time to stop and visit one of the other key funders in health care, the Tuck Shop.

President Mabel McCowan and representative Val Halliday gave the two a quick tour of the Tuck Shop’s latest creations. The creativity and quality of the items on display and for sale include men’s barbecue aprons, ladies and children’s aprons, hair wraps, table runners, placemats and so much more.

All items are handmade and all proceeds from the sales go directly back to patient programs, comforts and medical equipment at the Creston Valley Hospital. Over the past several years, the Creston Tuck Shop has annually contributed over $20,000 in funding support.

The Tuck Shop team is busily preparing for their next big public sale, the Tuck Shop Craft Fair, which runs 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 6 in the Creston Valley Hospital lobby.
