Forty-three competitors took part in the Skills BC Competition on March 1 at Cranbrook campus of College of the Rockies.
Regional high school and ACE-IT (Accelerated Credit Enrolment in Industry Training) students competed in Welding, Cabinet Making, Carpentry and Automotive Service, and awards were presented to the first, second and third-place finishers in each category.
Four students from Prince Charles Secondary School placed, including Brad Beebe (third, high school cabinet making), Brayden Jones (second, ACE-IT welding) and Klaus Sedlmeir (second, high school welding). Jeremiah Staggs placed first in high school carpentry, and will advance to the provincial competition.
