Creston Museum leading Halloween tour of Pioneer Cemetery

Creston Museum is offering its first-ever cemetery tour at 2 p.m. on Halloween...

It just wouldn’t be Halloween without a visit to a graveyard, now, would it?

That’s precisely why the Creston Museum is offering its first-ever cemetery tour on Saturday.

“Pioneer Cemetery is a fascinating place,” says museum manager (and tour leader) Tammy Hardwick. “The stories of the people who are buried there are the stories of the creation of a community — the challenges, the triumphs, the tragedies that go with carving a livelihood out of the wilderness.”

The tour starts at 2 p.m. on Halloween. Admission is by donation, with a suggested donation of $5. It will last about an hour, and goes ahead rain or shine. Guests are reminded that the ground in Pioneer Cemetery is uneven, and good, sturdy footwear is highly recommended.

To join the tour, meet at the main gate of Pioneer Cemetery (315 11th Ave. S.) by 2. For more information or to get answers to any questions, contact the museum at 250-428-9262 or crestonmuseum@telus.net.
