The Creston Museum invites you to a special event just for local residents: Locals’ Day.

On May 31 and June 1, the museum is offering special admission rates for local residents — just a toonie for anyone who lives in the Creston Valley. The staff hopes you’ll come down and join them, as you take your first tour of the museum this summer (or maybe your first tour ever!). There will be refreshments too, of course.

Why is the museum doing this? Because the staff want to give you a special opportunity to check out everything that’s new down here at the museum — New exhibits, new gift shop, new books on local history and more!

And, if you’d like a more in-depth look at what they do, and how and why they do it, at noon or 3 p.m. each day, manager Tammy Hardwick is offering special curator’s tours.

“I’ll be leading these ones myself,” she says, “and, in addition to lots of local history, I’ll give you an insider’s look at the work and planning that goes into our exhibits.”

Space is limited on the curator’s tours, though, so if you’re interested, sign up soon! Just call 250-428-9262 or email mail@creston.museum.bc.ca.

So head on down — Locals’ Day runs from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on both days.
