As the summer progresses and the appeal of hot weather and free time begin to wear off, many Crestonites find themselves wondering what to do with their long August afternoons. Well wonder no more! Not only is the Creston Museum offering a multitude of interactive tours and programming for all ages, it is also pleased to announce the return of the annual afternoon tea on Aug. 8.

The theme of this year’s tea is the Roaring Twenties in Creston, so you can expect to find your share of flappers, bootleggers and local history as you enjoy the event in the museum’s courtyard. There will be live entertainment provided by Footlighters Theatre Society, servers dressed in period costume and a light meal of dainty sandwiches and sweets to be served alongside the tea. Guests are more than welcome to come in costume!

There are three one-hour seatings, at 1, 2 and 3 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children under six, and everyone is advised to reserve their tickets as soon as possible in order to ensure everyone finds a suitable seat. More information on this event and others running though the summer can be found at www.creston.museum.bc.ca or by calling 250-428-9262.
