With no end in sight for the B.C. government and BC Teachers’ Federation dispute, the rec centre and a church are offering day camps for elementary-aged children.
For the first two weeks of September, the Creston and District Community Complex is offering its Not Back to School Camp, which will run from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday. Participants can register in two groups: Grades 1-3 and Grades 4-7.
Grace Christian Fellowship (formerly Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church) is opening its doors for educational, non-religious day camps until the strike is over. Students from kindergarten through Grade 6 are eligible for the camp, which runs 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday. Registration is open through Aug. 29.
Both camps have limited space, and charge registration fees. For more information, contact the Creston and District Community Complex at 250-428-7127 or Grace Christian Fellowship at 250-428-7418.
