Army Cadet Michael Niemi, a member of Creston’s 1 Service Battalion Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps, marched in the Oliver Sunshine Festival Parade on July 13 as part of a large contingent of musicians from Vernon Army Cadet Summer Training Centre (VACSTC).
Cadets in Bravo Training Group, which functions as a school of music during each summer at VACSTC, not only spend hours each day improving their musicianship, but also provide the music for the graduation parades held at the centre and for audiences in Vernon.
The bands will soon march in the Penticton Peach Festival parade on Aug. 10.
