Phonograph hobbyist hosts event with eBay business

Ever thought about dragging out Grandpa’s old gramophone or phonograph and getting it working?

Ever thought about dragging out Grandpa’s old gramophone or phonograph and getting it working?

“Now is the time,” said phonograph hobbyist Jason Smith, who is teaming up with a local eBay business. “I’ve had a lot of requests for parts over the years, including new belts and needles, and with the help of Mel’s Online Auctions, these parts become easy to obtain.

“I deal in both types of machines — cylinder and disc. Even if you don’t need parts or repairs for your machine, bring it down or just bring a picture of it. It’s always fun to see what’s in people’s collections.”

Smith will be available at the Snoring Saquatch from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. on June 15 and 16.

Mel’s Online Auctions will be accepting items at the Sasquatch during the same hours. Owner Melanie Postnikoff will be there for a general appraisal and information on what her business does.

“I am excited to get going again and help people de-clutter their homes,” she said.
