Overwaitea Foods manager Char Stunder recently presented a cheque for $652 to Creston-Kootenay Foundation directors Heather Suttie and Ted Hutchinson.
The money was raised through Overwaitea’s charitable points donation program, through which every 1,000 More Rewards points donated by a customer is converted to $1, which the Overwaitea Food Group matches.
“These funds will be added to an endowment fund within the foundation, and every year the income that it earns will return to the community in the form of grants to local charity and non-profit groups,” said Hutchinson. “This year, the Foundation’s grants will amount to almost $25,000. Thank you to Overwaitea and those customers who shared their points with the Creston-Kootenay Foundation.”
