Ernestine (Ernie) Malyk passed away after a short illness with cancer in Creston, BC.
Ernestine was born on April 10, 1931 to Francois and Josephine Leborgne in Pathlow, SK. She was an active bowler and a long time member of the Catholic Women’s League.
Ernestine is predeceased by her husband Jack (1995); son John (1992); parents Francois and Josephine Leborgne (1975); siblings Philippe, Paul, Jeanne, Cecile, and Therese.
Ernestine is survived by her children Colette (Pierre) Laflamme, Catherine (Denis) McGillicuddy, Maureen (Murray) Cumming, Tony Malyk, Margaret Devantier, Pete (Trudy) Malyk, Ray Malyk, Bruce (Doris) Malyk, Janet (Sacha) Page; 21 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Marie Blais and Madeleine Leborgne; sister-in-law Kay Malyk and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass was held on Friday June 1, 2018 at Holy Cross Catholic Church at 11am with burial following. Father Sylvester Ibekwe officiating. G.F. Oliver Funeral Chapel was entrusted with the care of Ernestine.
