Albert Bilcik passed away on May 7, 2018 in Creston, BC after a short illness.

Albert was born in Iron Springs, AB. He attended school in Creston and married “Nan” Arrowsmith on April 9, 1955. They left Creston and moved to Boston Bar, Castlegar and Salmo, as Al worked for the Department of Highways as a surveyor. They finally settled in Creston and made it home, raising their five children in the valley.

Albert was long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He loved to fish and camp with the family. He also loved hunting and was a passionate gardener. He took pride in sharing his harvest with family and friends.

Albert was predeceased by his loving wife Bernice (Ellen) Bilcik; his parents Albert and Katherine Bilcik; brothers Gerry Bilcik and Lawrence Bilcik.

He is survived by his children Analee (Bruce) Anderson of Creston, Linda (John) Edwards of Kelowna, Val (Ron) Buchy of Creston, Leslie (Craig) Gulka of Chilliwack; Greg Bilcik of Creston; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Albert was a loving father, grandfather and a great friend to many. He made life interesting with his sense of humour and sharing his life skills. He will be sadly missed.

A private family service will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the local food bank.
