The 2011-2012 season is over for the Creston Valley Thunder Cats, who lost game 6 in the first round of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League playoffs last night, with the Kimberley Dynamiters winning 8-1.

The game at Creston's John Bucyk Arena was dominated by the Dynamiters, who scored four goals in the first period, three in the second and one in the third before Thunder Cats captain Scott Swiston scored on a power play with 4:02 left in the game.

The first round of the Eddie Mountain Division playoffs was a hard-fought battle for the Thunder Cats, who were shorthanded as several players battled the flu in the early games. The Thunder Cats previously lost the first two games to Kimberley, won the third, lost the fourth and won the fifth.
