Isobel “Izzy” Nixon was the centre of attention when the Creston Valley Thunder Cats — as well as Creston RCMP Staff Sgt. Bob Gollan and Const. Morgan Littlejohn, and Pastor Harry Haberstock — shaved their heads on Saturday to raise funds for Izzy’s family.

Izzy was diagnosed with a brain tumour Dec. 19, a week after she turned seven, and her family has been travelling to Alberta for her treatments.

At the same event, Carly Jellis cut her hair and donated it to locks of love. The Thunder Cats, who enter the first round of Kootenay International Junior Hockey League playoffs on Friday, are continuing to show support by starting #izzystrong on Twitter — and writing #izzystrong on their sticks.
