Reading and learning still important in age of technology

Rewarding to see improvements in reading and self-confidence in Erickson students, says Creston letter writer Jeanne Marie Plante...

To the Editor:

We have completed the One to One reading program at Erickson Elementary School. It was such a blessing for me, as co-ordinator, to help students improve their reading skills. It was so rewarding to see not only improvements in their reading but the self-confidence in themselves.

With all the technology, it is still important to read. I encourage parents and grandparents to take time to read with their children even when they are young.

I enjoyed working with children and seeing the joy that success brings to them. We need to keep on reading and learning.
