I received a copy of your opinion piece from a Creston resident. I got a kick out of it — you are a good listener. Thanks for a good summary of the message about raising money for charities, bringing abundance to the groups and agencies that do so much good in our communities.
Missing from your column were the accolades that local groups deserve for the incredible amount of work that is done by volunteers and organizations working on a shoestring. As part of the annual general meeting, I heard about all the different programs that are run, and people helped, through the Creston and District Community Resource Center — it was jaw dropping. I encourage your readers to support your local charities generously.
