Good things are happening in Creston Valley

Readers appreciates stories on Lower Kootenay Band/Town of Creston joint inauguration, and Creston View donation to Christmas hampers...

To the Editor:

So many good things are happening in our beautiful Creston Valley that it becomes hard to keep track of all of them.

We were delighted to see the picture and to read the article about the joint town and Lower Kootenay Band councils’ inauguration in the Dec. 4. Advance. “Let us celebrate democracy,” LKB Chief Jason Louie said. I do believe it is much more. Here is an example of communities working together for a happier, more peaceful, better world. Hopefully, this good news will spread widely so our Canada and the world can learn from this great event.

If we have peace and happiness in our families, peace and happiness in our communities and in our country, then we can work and hope for peace on our beautiful Earth.

Right next to this picture is the article about the Christmas hampers and a picture on the next page with some of the Crest View Village Auxiliary members. In the middle of the picture seated is the president Clara Rushka, a very wise and active lady at the age of 92. She is always ready to do and to organize something for the not so fortunate people in need. We, who are thankful to live among friendly and helpful residents and a wonderful, caring staff here in the Crest View Village, are also experiencing the help, entertainment and fellowship from many volunteers again and again.

We wish all the good people in the Creston Valley a wonderful Christmas and health and happiness in the new year.
