Giving credit where credit is due

Often, progress is not only difficult to see, but even more difficult to measure...

To the Editor:

Often, progress is not only difficult to see, but even more difficult to measure. Progress within a community often goes unnoticed. After being away from Creston for a few years, I am impressed by the progress of the Creston Valley Food Action Coalition and, in particular, the Creston Valley Farmers’ Market.

I recently had the pleasure of attending a meeting and noticed the dedicated commitment and seemingly tireless efforts of Len Parkin and Gerri Lee. Things have come a long way from a few tents outside on a vacant lot. My hat is off to Len and Gerri for having what it takes to make a huge difference. Yes, there are always many who move the ship along, but without a good captain and navigator, it could have sailed into oblivion.
