Ferry improvements

Gray Creek Store owner Tom Lymbery gives thanks to letter writer Duncan Simpson regarding the ferry move.

(Re: “Kootenay Lake ferry move”, August 18 Advance)

Many thanks to Duncan Simpson of Lister for his unbiased letter re: the Kootenay Lake Ferry. He has taken the time to review the possible changes that will make the crossing similar to the Galena Bay–Shelter Bay service across the Arrow Lakes on Highway 23 north to Highway 1. The new 80 vehicle MV Columbia provides hourly service and you see at anchor the two ferries that previously struggled to keep up.

Improvements to our Kootenay Lake Ferry are most necessary to our business, Gray Creek Store,  as customers from the larger population centres of Nelson, Castlegar and Trail are so important.
