Changes need to be made with senior driver testing

It looks like it is time to go back to the drawing board and take another long and hard look at what other jurisdictions have done...

To the Editor:

(Re: “DriveAble test creates a hardship for seniors")

An April 2013 research article (www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23628257) from the Centre for Research on Safe Driving, researchers concluded that it is premature to test older drivers with the SIMARD-MD (Screen for the Identification of Cognitively Impaired Medically At-Risk Drivers, a Modification of the DemTect) cognitive test.

It looks like it is time to go back to the drawing board and take another long and hard look at what other jurisdictions have done and the long-term effects.
