Robert Joseph Wurst 1930 ~ 2017

Robert Wurst passed away in Creston Valley Hospital on May 2, 2017 after a brief illness.

Robert came to Creston with his family in 1943 by train from Saskatchewan - a special memory for a farm boy and he spoke of it often. He always considered Creston his home, even during periods of time when he worked or lived elsewhere. It was his "Garden of Eden", his "Shangrila" and his "Valley of the Dolls".

As a young man he worked for many of the contractors of that era and had unending stories to tell about the changes and growth in the valley. His final work experience was owning and operating his own logging truck in the Nakusp area. However, he returned to retire and live in the Creston Valley in 1998.

He is survived by his two sons, two grandchildren, one sister and two brothers.

There will be no funeral service by request. Cremation has taken place.

"For that which is boundless in you abide

in the mansions of the sky, whose door is

the morning mist and whose windows are

the songs and silences of the night!"

- Kahlil Gibran
