September 30, 1928 ~ October 23, 2016

Mike Trupish passed away on October 23, 2016 at the age of 88 years.

Mike was born in Lloyds Hill, Alberta on September 30, 1928. He was one of eight children to Mike and Mary Trupish. Mike grew up in the area of Bonneville and Glendon. He became a truck driver where he worked in the oil fields. He later moved to Dawson Creek where he met and fell in love with Judy in 1969.

His career as a truck driver was honoured after driving more than one million miles accident-free. He was inducted into the Million Mile Club which is part of the National Safety Council.

Mike and Judy enjoyed traveling Western Canada visiting friends and family along with their dog Amber, sharing laughter and good times. They enjoyed playing cards and going to the casino.

After Judy’s death in 2002, Mike moved to Creston in 2004 with his friend Darlene Henderson where they met up with old friends and made new friends. Terri and Wayne Miller became Mike's caregivers in 2012 as his health started to fail. He was very thankful for the care and kindness that they provided to him.

Mike is survived by his sister Mary Onfrychuk; stepdaughter Carol Painter and her family in Dawson Creek; numerous nieces and nephews and his longtime friends Cecile and Tommy Hogan, who visited Mike weekly. Mike will be remembered fondly by all who knew him for his wit and kindness.

No funeral service at Mike's request. A private family service will be held. Interment of Mike’s ashes with Judy’s and their dog Amber's in the family plot in Eureka River, Alberta to be held at a later date.
