Joseph Juurlink

Joseph Juurlink of Creston, BC passed away on December 9, 2016 at his home, after his battle with cancer.

Joseph was born in Slagharen, Holland on May 1, 1948.

In 1952 his family immigrated to Canada. They spent one year in Yamachiche, Quebec. They then moved to Shubenacadie area in Nova Scotia, where they farmed until the fall of 1980. Joseph was educated in Milford, Nova Scotia before relocating to Calgary, Alberta where Joseph could persue his career as a welder. In 2007 he moved to Creston, BC for his retirement years.

Joseph was an active member of the Creston Seniors' Group. He always enjoyed attending Sunday breakfast groups. He also enjoyed photography, he loved to travel, but golfing was his passion.


Joseph is predeceased by his father Jan Herman Juurlink, his mother Wilhelm Ina Hendrika Jozefina Juurlink (nee Belt), and his brother Jan Herman Juurlink.

Joseph is survived by his wife Kathy Juurlink; his four sons: John (Karen) Juurlink (children Zackery, Lucas, and Jenny), Joe (Lauraine) Juurlink (children Ceilidh, Breagh, and Fraser), Peter (Shannon) Juurlink (children Megan and Justin), Patrick (Courtney) Juurlink (children Oaklyn and Coen); his brothers Bernhard (Barbara) and Charles Juurlink; his sisters Trudy, Elizabeth (Allen), Mary-Anne (Gerry) and Helena (Dave), and many nieces and nephews.
