Elsie Spetifore

May 6, 1921 ~ November 20, 2011

It is with great sadness that the family of Elsie Spetifore announces her passing on November 20, 2011 at the age of 90 years.

Elsie was born to parents Lorne and Alphonsine on May 6, 1921 in Langham, SK. She moved to Delta, BC with her family in 1937. It was there that she met and married Albert Frederick. They became very proud parents of Warren and Lorne. Sadly, Albert was killed at war in 1944. Elsie later met and married Robert Spetifore and together they had four children. Although their marriage ended, they remained friends.

Elsie moved to Creston in 1992 so she could be close to her family. She continued enjoying all the things she loved; her family, her many crafts, tea parties, cooking and feeding people, watching and feeding the birds, game shows, gardening, crosswords, road trips to visit her family.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children Warren (Liisa) Frederick, Lorne (Maureen) Frederick, Moke (Sandi) Spetifore, David (Linda) Spetifore, Rose Spetifore (Dieter) and Greg (Janice) Spetifore; her 19 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; her brother Gordie and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents Lorne and Alphonsine McNolty and her siblings Irene, Flo, Len, Merv and Ev.

A Memorial Funeral Service was held on Saturday November 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at G.F.Oliver Funeral Chapel with Canon Randy Wood officiating.

Friends wishing to make a memorial contribution may do so to the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, 4480 Oak St. Vancouver, BC, V6H 3V4.
