Eleanor Mae Bradford (nee Myllyaho)

April 6, 1953 ~ February 13, 2017

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Eleanor Mae Bradford of West Creston, B.C. who passed away suddenly in California, U.S.A on February 13, 2017.

Eleanor was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario, where she grew up with her parents, and was the second oldest, having three sisters and two brothers.

She graduated high school in Thunder Bay in 1971, which was the summer that she met her future husband Mel. Eleanor and Mel were married on May 19, 1973 in Thunder Bay. They were together for over 46 years and married for 44, sharing lots of great times and adventures along the way. In 1974, they started a family with their first son Tim being born and three years later having the twins (Kyle and Crystal). In 1981, they left Thunder Bay and made the big move to Creston, B.C., and have called it home for over 36 years now.

Eleanor had a great love for the outdoors and enjoyed gardening, traveling, fishing, hunting and camping. She shared this love with her family and friends, who she loved to spend time with. El was an amazing cook and was known for her delicious meals, baking and entertaining guests. Her grandchildren would say her ribs and Finnish crepes were the best. Eleanor's greatest passion in life was her family. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother and she cherished being a grandmother. She loved being involved in their lives and went out of her way to make family and friends feel special.

Eleanor is predeceased by her father Timo Myllyaho and her mother Sally Myllyaho (nee Nahkala).

Eleanor is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Melvin Bradford of West Creston; her three children: Tim (Mona) Bradford of Creston, B.C., Kyle (Shelena) Bradford of Slave Lake, AB, Crystal Vogel (nee Bradford) of Weyburn, SK; nine grandchildren: Devon, Ryan, Natasha, Jessie, Nate, Ryder, Dylan, Julie and Alisha; her siblings: Beverley (Len) Dzierniejko of Kingston, ON, Ed (Gloria) Myllyaho of Thunder Bay, ON, Sherry (Jerry) Luhtala of Thunder Bay, ON, Terry (Louise) Myllyaho of Thunder Bay, ON, and Pat (David) Opas of Thunder Bay, ON. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Eleanor was more then a daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother, she was a friend to all who came into her life. She taught us how to love and to live life each day.

A Memorial Service was held on Saturday April 22, 2017 at Redeemer Lutheran Church.
